YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND LIFE UNTIL IT GROWS INSIDE OF YOU…..

WHY SHOULD I DO A MATERNITY SHOOT?

Because YOU Are Beautiful! You will only be pregnant a few times in your entire life. No matter if you think you look far from glowing or glamourous, I am skilled at drawing out the beauty, love and femininity of pregnancy – you may just surprise yourself…

DO I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HOW BIG IS MY BELLY?

The good thing about pregnancy is now you can show it off because it’s beautifully round. So this is a chance to flaunt your belly and feel great about it!

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME FOR A MATERNITY SESSION? (SEE BELOW)

I love to photograph all mommies-to-be, but we suggest planning your appointment for when you are showing quite well, but are still comfortable. All ladies are different, but typically that is around 28-36 weeks.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE SESSION?

Not too much preparation is required on your part, but here are some pointers to help you feel your best when the camera is on you! Drink plenty of water and get a good night’s rest before your shoot. Most importantly, have nails manicured naturally or French style, make sure any family members who will be participating also have clean nails. With regards make up, I recommend applying makeup as you normally would for daytime, but be sure to accentuate your cheek bones and wear plenty of mascara.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Besides what you may already have in mind, I would guide you before the session on what you can bring with you.

DO I NEED TO GET NUDE FOR THE SESSION?

You can be as clothed, or as bare as you want. I always start with clothed shots and follow the client’s lead. It is up to you how artistic you’d like to get. I can show you different samples of my work when you are at the studio.

WHAT ABOUT MY STRETCH MARKS, SCARS, ETC!?

I am an expert in photo retouching. Any photo you select for your package will be retouched to magazine quality. You will look great, I promise.

CAN I BRING IN SIBLINGS?

Yes, of course! Any family that you would like in the photos may join the shoot. This is a beautiful and joyous time of celebration in a family, which I love to document. It can help them to feel important too, and a nice memory which they can look at one day and remember, ‘I was there when you were in mummy’s tummy!’

I AM STILL NOT SURE ABOUT DOING A MATERNITY SESSION….

You might be unsure about it now, but if you don’t have a photography session while you’re pregnant, you’ve lost the chance to create once in a lifetime memories – you can’t get them back. Photos also trigger memories, feelings, emotions… they help you remember more vividly. Even if you don’t care for the memory for yourself, I can assure you that when your children are older, they will be delighted to see the photos of their pregnant mamma, while they were growing inside of you. From my experience of photographing numerous maternity shoots, I don’t know anyone who has regretted getting a pregnancy photo shoot – but I know plenty who regret not doing it.
